Invasion of the Minikins.

Katie came to see me one day. It was cold. As per usual.

She had ideas, formulations but no set plan. Except that the groom didn't like flowers much. O-o-o-o kay. I can work with that.

The venue was to be Brighton Pavilion and the spec was British and seasonal. Katie pulled out her phone on which she had taken snaps of the inside of the Pavilion's King Edward IV suite where receptions are held. It has the most divine chinoiserie wallpaper decorated with fantastical birds, fruit and exotic flowers on a back ground of palest blue. And therein, the idea of pumpkins as tablecentres was born. That exact shade of blue matched a Blue prince pumpkin, bang on shade, impossibly seasonal and erm, not a flower. With a mini pumpkin per guest as a place name. Too cute. The minikins were born.

Her bouquet was a classic knot of vintage Memory Lane roses, dusky and honey scented.

Katie and Brad were a delight to work with, so chilled and real. An absolute treat. The fire alarms went off during their wedding breakfast and they were still cool.
