Siiiigh. No, it's not Giant Haystacks....

We are sooooo ahead of the curve at Mole Headquarters. Our Halloween window was cleared last week to make way for the hairiest month of the year, MOVEMBER!!

Which incidentally could be August for me as we get so wedding heavy that I rarely manage any hair reduction activities.

The inspiration for the window was stems from a lifelong love for WWF. Not. Actually, an excess of pampas grass. You would be amazed at at how many people thought it was a pirate.

If only I had Hulk Hogan's number. I would so call him to come on down and sign our window.

#feelinghumbled

Oh well, today started well. We have been selected as one of Brighton's top three florists by a service that I didn't even know existed. A beautiful certificate arrived in the post. I nearly recycled it straight away as junk mail before opening so imagine our delight to have find this!

Thank you to all our kind, kind customers. We will keep it up!

Me next time.

However, I think Brighton property prices may scupper the plan.

Throwback Thursday - Roxy, Will and rabbit.

We were delighted with Roxy and Will's romantic ideas for their wedding at the gorgeous Broyle Place just outside of Lewes. Roxy had her heart set on a wild flower crown and boy did she rock it!

Her bouquet was a cascading, wild affair of amaryllis, dahlias, scented roses, grasses, autumnal foliages, seeded eucalyptus, chocolate cosmos, reships, snapdragons, grasses and crazy zinnias. Basically, if it had that Indian Summer, turning leaf type look, we made room for it. The bridesmaids carried mini pared down versions.

One for the haters......

People, it's time to reassess our attitudes to chrysanthemums. Not at all naff or garage forecourt-esque.

They are the perfect seasonal bloom right now, long lasting and architectural, they can be used in far more inventive ways than you may think. Cut them short, group them, use a single one as a study in a bud vase.

Take this beauty ' Avignon '. below. She takes my breath away.

Autumn aint always orange.

Inspired by the silkiness of the pampass grass I spied on my walk to work, I knew I had to do something to showcase this amazing textured grass for our next seasonal window display.

Our resident mannequin was given a floor sweeping gown of pampass grass with a bodice of two toned magnolia leaves with their glossy green tops and suede like undersides, finished with an elegant sash of dark green ribbon.
